Abstract

The desire of many customers is an easy, quick and tailored home-fabrication of products for individual needs. To achieve this, several open-source-projects and companies are developing low-cost 3D printers for plastic parts. This article describes the current status of low-cost 3D printers for home fabrication with their capabilities and limitations.
