Additive manufacturing is increasingly finding its way into industrial production. One current area of research that has the potential to strengthen this trend is the automated integration of sensors during the build-up. Thereby, sensors are automatically inserted into the component during the manufacturing process and connected via conductive tracks that are also produced during the build-up.The conductor tracks transport electrical signals and measured values from the inside of the component to the outside and thus enable condition monitoring during its use. This paper presents the results of a feasibility study on the potentialsand limitations of building thin conductor track structures from AlSi10Mg using PBF-LB/M. For this purpose, framework conditionswere defined in which conductive tracks can be produced reliablyand with sufficient quality.
