Additive manufactured mechanical disentanglement lock
Abstract
In this paper, the fabrication of a novel mechanical disentanglement lock using Additive Manufacturing (AM) methods is discussed. One of the advantages of AM processes is that assembled objects can be directly fabricated from Computer Aid Design (CAD) computer data; this is utilized to increase the security of available lock systems by enabling onsite, on demand manufacturing which minimizes risk of illicit activity. Prototype locks are fabricated by Selective Laser Melting (SLM) using different material and the applications are discussed.Downloads
